A representative payee receives Social Security and/or Supplemental Social Security Income (SSI), retirement payments, military payments, or any other form of monthly income for individuals who have demonstrated that they cannot manage their own benefits. Annual accounting to the Social Security Administration are done to prove benefits have been used according to Social Security guidelines. Reports are also provided to the probate courts.
